With the holidays right around the corner, we’re sure that many of you are planning on having family and friends stay over at your house during those special festivities. Of course you’ll want to be sure that the house is spotless, the decorations are placed perfectly, and that there’s enough food to go around. Above all, an important aspect to focus on this holiday season is creating the perfect guest room so that your loved ones feel right at home. Here’s a few tips that can help you make your guest room more welcoming.
Placing a luggage rack in your guest room is a must. You wouldn’t want your guests to have to walk over their suitcases in order to get around the room.
Display the wifi password for your guests to easily find so that they don’t have to go out of their way to ask you for it. But don’t just write down the password on a piece of paper, make every detail of this room thoughtful and welcoming. Instead, present it on a letterboard or in a beautiful picture frame.

Choosing the right color scheme for your guest room is crucial in order to make it feel cozy and inviting. Consider using a warm blue color pallet, as it is known to have a calming effect on people and can have a great impact on how comfortable your guests feel during their stay.
Placing a tray on or near your guest’s bed not only serves as a decorative accent, but it also makes your guests feel like they’re being tended to. Add some fresh flowers in a vase, a candle, or a book to the tray as a thoughtful way of making your guests feel welcomed.
It’s important that your guests feel as comfortable as possible. Put aside extra blankets and pillows in a storage ottoman or bench so that they are out of the way but also handy.
Your guests will obviously need a place to put their clothes so there should be an appropriate amount of space for their belongings. If the room doesn’t come with a closet, include a dresser or an armoire. If you’re going to have a space for hanging clothes (either in a closet or armoire) be sure to have hangers for them to use, cause let’s be real..nobody packs that kind of stuff.
