Everyone outside of the design world will say that the December Holidays are “the most wonderful time of the year”. But go to High Point Market in North Carolina, then come talk to us! It’s where we designers get to see the products we normally only see online, get to discover new vendors and meet the reps that deal with all of our nonsense! It’s basically like Disney and Vegas had a baby and it’s truly magical. My feet still hurt, but the inspiration that cam from the trip was well worth it. Here’s a few favorites – some old, some new, but all so good!
High Point is where see what’s in the works with all our vendors and where we also start to fall in love with new trends. Since it’s in October a lot of the trends were fall and winter inspired, but that cozy feeling we all strive for during the colder months had us all *insert heart eyes emoji here*. Color-wise, so many great jewel tones – burgundy, emerald and mustard made many appearances. Boucle´ made it’s debut into interiors from the fashion world. And classic patterns like plaid and ticking stripes were mixed in with tribal and midcentury fabrics, for a fresh twist on traditional. Some other fan-favorites were Burl wood, cane and Shagreen – which are, and always will be, classics. Gimme, gimme!
While we definitely made sure to spend some time at some of our go-to’s, the fun part about High Point is finding some new resources to pull from, Artesia Collections being one. With a fun bohemian flare, their products were playful, relaxed and had that handmade feel we designers love. Loved their hanging basket pendants, raffia mirrors and pretty much everything shoved into every nook and cranny in their tiny showroom. Taylor King was another great find. And while, they are by no means new, they’ve been making high-quality furniture for over 40 years, it was great to learn more about their collection and see it in person. Went originally for the open bar (sorry, not sorry), but stayed for the comfortable lounge chairs and eclectic styling.
