Breaking It Up
There are times when using color, that the neutral elements become the focal point. In this clients study, they wanted a warm, cozy feel, without white or grey walls. We used this beautiful green to make the room feel sophisticated. The white area rug and chairs help break up the dark flooring and provides a bit of visual breathing room.

Wallpaper
Another way to get a pop of color is to use a wallpaper that already has a terrific color created for you.
In this room, the dark blue shades in the paper create the perfect backdrop for this bunk room. Its fun color and funky vibe are a great compliment to the custom bunk beds and crisp walls.

Art and Color
Another approach is to find a beautiful piece of colorful art as inspiration. Seen here, this client showcased a favorite piece full of beautiful colors. We pulled the rich blue tone into this custom velvet sofa. It really makes a statement and grounds the colors.

Unexpected Surprises
If you don’t want to invest in art or custom upholstery just yet, you can inject color with a small built-in, such as the one shown here. This client loved the “Teacup Rose” we chose for this bar area. And they can easily mix in many colors, building the look up or down by moving pieces around until it feels just right.
