We are very tired but very inspired this week because we just got back from High Point Market! For those of you who aren’t familiar with High Point Market, it’s basically Disneyland for interior designers. Trade vendors from all over the globe come to High Point to show us their latest and greatest collections for furniture, lighting, textiles, and decor. It’s the biggest home furnishing trade show in the world!
This year I had the incredible opportunity of being a High Point Market Style Spotter, which means that I get to ‘spot’ the top styles and trends at market. If you want to find out my top picks, join me and the Style Spotter’s team for Style Spotters LIVE! on Wednesday, June 30th at 2pm ET – you can register for the event here! Until then, I’ll share a few of my favorite finds and trends that I saw at market this Spring.
Trends
For upholstery, bouclé stole the spotlight this year, specifically in shades of white. We saw bouclé used all over – on beds, accent seating, dining chairs, and sofas. I’m a huge fan of bouclé, as it brings beautiful texture and a cozy feel to solid upholstery.
As for lighting, long-bottomed sconces seemed to be paving their way. I love this idea, especially since it makes it easier for clients needing plug-in lighting options!
It seemed to me like there were a lot of vendors who pulled inspiration from Chess and Checkers…perhaps everyone’s obsession with The Queen’s Gambit on Netflix led to this? I saw a lot of checker print and decorative chess and checker boards on display.
Fave Finds
This curvy mirror by Noir Furniture gives me all the feels…add to cart!
We hung out at Made Goods for quite some time because there were just so many pretty things to see! They had the cutest wallpapered vignettes to showcase their mirrors and decor in and I was obsessed.
Everything about this bedroom setup at Julian Chichester’s showroom is too good. I love all of the textural details, layers, and color…so yummy.
This stool and console table at Universal Showroom gave me major heart eyes.
High Point Market, thanks for having us for 5 days full of beautiful pieces, amazing people, lots of walking, and champagne! As a designer, it’s so important to be able to touch, sit, and see items in person (especially after the past year or so) and we are so excited to come back in the Fall for more. Cheers!
